Hints n Tips:

  • A brunch reception is a unique twist, with a wide range of breakfast foods, like eggs benedict, waffles, muffins, and other morning treats.  Hot serving of sea food, carving station with ham.  Foods that most people do not get everyday.
  • Newly engaged, future brides and grooms should always send out hand-written notes to close family and friends telling them the good news!
  • The going rate for location fees in January, February, and March is typically lower that at other times of the year.
  • Avoid having a wedding around such holidays as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day when flower prices are higher.
  • Thank you notes may be written after the wedding / party.  But no longer than 2 weeks.
  • Don't you hate it when you need your big kitchen knife, but it's sitting in a pile of dirty dishes? No worries. Skip the cutlery and use dental floss to slice cakes and cheese. Hold the floss tight over cake or cheese, pull down, and move it slightly side to side.
  • We all need to clean our keyboards every once in a while. No matter how much of a neat freak you are, dust always manages to find its way in between your keys. Try cleaning your keyboard with baby wipes. They'll easily remove dirt, dried spills and other buildup on your keys.
  • A very effective way to clean your coffee maker is with denture tablets. Simply drop two tablets in the tank and fill it with water. Run the coffee maker. Discard the pot full of water and follow up with two rinse cycles of clean water.
  • Create a home-made, flexible ice pack with rubbing alcohol. Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol with 3 parts water in a self-closing bag. Set in your freezer, and soon you'll have a slushy, comfortable ice pack.
  • Here's a quick fix for a carpet stain... First, blot up the unfortunate spill, then pat it with a wet sponge. Squirt shaving cream on the spot (yes, shaving cream) and wipe clean with a damp sponge. The stain is gone!
  • Clear up clogged drains in your home with a home-made concoction consisting of a couple Alka-Seltzer tablets and a cup of vinegar.
  • Use toothpaste to shine up your clothes iron. Simply apply non-gel toothpaste to your cool iron, scrub with a rag, then rinse clean.
  • Do you have holes in your window screens that are allowing small bugs to enter your home? Try covering the holes with clear nail polish.
