A wedding is something to celebrate - what better way than with a reception. It can be anything you want, from a cocktail party for everyone you know to a candlelit dinner for just your close family. You can hold it just about anywhere your back yard, church hall, hotel, restaurant, banquet hall. It can feature finger foods and drinks, a hearty buffet, or a seated dinner. You two are the host and it will be your first party you throw as a couple. Have some wedding reception traditions - first dance, toast, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss. Picture this: Ask guests to bring a copy of a picture of themselves with you and/or the groom, or with your parents, siblings, or other family members. Put a friend in charge of pinning the photos to a poster board that's on display at the reception. It will be great fun for guests to look at during the reception, and a wonderful beginning to your first photo album as a married couple after wards. Idea from "Emily Post -Weddings- by Peggy Post". Green Weddings: To have your big day Eco-conscious, brides and grooms are letting nature be their florist. By serving organic foods, sustainable seafood; and using solar lights to illuminate pathways. Having all natural floral decorations and earth friendly accessories. Takeaway Centerpieces: A two-in-one wedding decoration and favor. Arrangements that are in smaller vessels grouped together, and will disassemble at the end of the night so that guest can have a favor to take home.
